My initial design for this assignment was first inspired by the shape of the nut and bolt but due to limitations in material and production I decided to simplify my design to two blocks. The main thing I learnt from this project is the importance of testing especially in the use of finger joints. My first finger joint design worked when the two pieces were laid flat but did not when they formed a corner and therefore resulted in me cutting my pieces numerous times. For the future, I will take testing and time management into greater consideration for my projects.
