This project taught me how a fraction of a millimeter can make a great difference in the overall craft of an object. I learned to pay attention to the effect of the laser cutter's heat on the materials and how the temperatures affect the fit of the object. Test pieces are a must in this sort of projects. The process of laying out my test piece and cut sheet was a good way to think about how to be the most economical in my layouts and design.
