Assignment 6 - Eric

My initial response to this assignment is to create something that I would create something that would enhance my personal ability. I figured that since the a large amount of my free time is spent on my laptop, and since I am a PC gamer, I should create a device that would place less strain on my wrists and help my posture. I noticed my process focused on a lot of engineering problem solving. With two rotatable hinges that was drilled through quarter inch plywood, the fabrication process was rather difficult, but still accomplished. The hinges needed to have extra rotating space, and that is why I multi-layered the device. Another aspect is heat processing, and I created a design of alternating cuts that allow heat to escape. Perhaps the next time I would do something similar, I would take in account material properties: thickness, how much weight per area the material can hold, and friction factor of the material.
