Assignment 6: Mental Armor

I wanted to improve something that was so ordinary that we don't think about it all.  I thought of daily objects or devices that I use every single day, and I thought of my bed.

At home, my bed is lofted, which means that my desk is below my bed.  I also wear glasses, and it's pretty dumb how I have to put my glasses on my desk and climb onto my bed half-blind.  To remedy this issue, I designed an attachable shelf for my glasses.

There is an "arm" on a swivel that allows the shelf to move around, which lets me get to my glasses with minimal effort in the morning.

Another thing I have difficulty with is waking up on time.  There aren't any flat surfaces for me to place my phone alarm, so I added a central groove for my to prop up my cell phone next to me.

I misread the width of my bedrail, so the shelf is a bit loose when I attach the shelf.  If I paid more attention to getting the basic dimensions, my project would have been much stronger.
