CNC Assignment

Assignment06       Thanks to the abundance of technology today, in all breadths of design fields, digital fabrication has become a vital tool, and a very common one. As we have seen this semester, having these machines and he technology at out disposal has broadened the limits of what can be physically created. Blogs and websites such as Design-Milk are good examples of the variety of production and technique is going on today.

For our final assignment, I had a particular interest in something that was wearable and easily mass produced. I stared with sketches, envisioning a pattern that might complement the plywood but be adaptable to create an entire array of design pieces. I created a plywood cuff, worn around the wrist as such:

In terms of the assignment, it enhances the appearance of a wrist.

Xena would probably rock this .

Using the CNC allowed for cleaner cuts, reduced time of cutting/ measuring, and uniformity which might've been lost using the wood shop mill.
